Cultural Award

The Sámi Parliament’s Cultural Committee awards cultural prizes to honour those who strengthen the Sámi language and culture and promote the vitality of traditional livelihoods.

The Sámi Parliament’s Cultural Committee can award a cultural prize each year from the Sámi cultural fund allocated in the State budget, which is intended to be used to promote Sámi art and culture.

The cultural prize is awarded without application, and its purpose is to honour a cultural practitioner or artist in recognition of significant work for Sámi cultural life.
